Dang, I need new glasses.

I caution against the teeth idea. No matter where you cut the teeth or how small, they will be just at the wrong angle to feel right. Better is to provide a sufficient bearing surface so friction is enough. A ring with a milled flat section half an inch in diameter would accept a quarter-inch hole and a quarter-inch Allen-head bolt. That could bolt to a brass boss with the appropriate hole and threads cut into it, which is then hard-soldered to the mounting flange. You'd be able to tighten it with the Allen key, and the half-inch-diameter bearing surface would be enough to keep it in place. If that isn't enough, a star lock washer between the ring and the mounting boss would do the trick.

The tricky bit is milling the flat on the inside of the ring.
