Fletcher also used a large, four-valve Holton CC, of the Model 345 variety, when the music needed something large.

And the 981 was a Sovereign, which post-dates the New Standard/Imperial, though of course he didn't start using the 981 until after he'd helped develop it. As I understand it, the New Standards and the Imperial are the same instrument, the first labeled as a Besson, and the second labeled as a Boosey and Hawkes. Arguments about their relative merits abound, with no conclusion.
