I myself play on gold plated mouthpieces too, since my lip seems to get irritataed quite easily. If the gold plating is done right....this would not be the cause as gold is a hypoallergenic metal. It does not react very easily..and does not oxidize like silver , brass, etc.. So my suggestion to you would be to look in to how your mouthpieces are plated...and that they are using a high quality process.
Also...i found much of my lip irritation was that i needed to be very careful when shaving.... playing right after shaving really seems to be the worst unless I use some kind of lip moisturizer. Just some ideas.... hope it helps
