I am a tuba dealer in the UK selling all the top brands of tuba.
We do sell Kalison instruments and I feel I can only comment
on the quality of the instruments we have sold into the UK.
Kalison tubas are all very well made, the silver plating is of a very
high standard and although the lacquer is a little on the thin side
it is also of a high quality.
The instruments are all hand made and each instrument does play slightly differently,
but for the most part they are good quality well made instruments.
All of our instruments have been well made and play well in tune.
None have been stuffy to play and have played freely in all registers.
For us in the UK the Kalison brand is a good quality low price and good value instrument.
If Kalison have a bad reputation in the US,
it is not the fault of the Kalison factory.
