This isn't a particularly good example, but it's the only one that I could find quickly. This is a short clip of an OLD Christmas album by some Nashville area musicians called the "Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band".

The only thing not quite right with the alto horn solo is that the (obviously a) French horn doubler doesn't use any vibrato (' figures, eh?). A friend of mine, Jennifer Kummer (another French horn doubler - former Memphis Symphony & Grant Park Principal Horn) is one of the current (obviously not playing on this clip) alto horn players in the band. Though not second nature to her as is the horn, she gives the Eb alto a bit more of a go than does the (still quite admirable) player in this old recording
