We define B-stock as an instrument that received some cosmetic damage either on the way to us from the manufacturer or in shipping back and forth to a customer. The instrument has been repaired and still has the manufacturers one year warrantee but is cosmetically imperfect, hence the discounted price. C-stock however (and that is what the Willson F tuba is listed as) means that the damage was more extensive. The horn still plays well but the cosmetic imperfections are of a greater magnitude. It still also has the one year warrantee, but if how the horn looks is important to you, then this is not the way to go. If you want a horn that plays well, for substantially less money and are not hung up on the beauty (ugly ducklings can play pretty well too) then this is a great way to go.
