I have the exact same problem with my Getzen. The plating basically just sucks. Every Getzen I've ever seen has pretty bad silver plate wear at the contact points. I've heard a rumor that the earlier ones were plated in-house at Getzen/Edwards/Whatever it is up there, and that the later ones were done by Anderson.
I'd be interested in hearing about what works well for you.
