anu is RVW 1st and 2nd movt or Hindemith 1st and 2nd + 5 orchestral excerpts + 2 advance etudes + scales etc...
All the other universities expect a grade 7 AMEB minimum..........
Ive talked to a lot o people about where to go... and people say the Steve Rosse is awesome and internationally well known and is the best thing since sliced bread for australia tuba wise.
Fabian Russell is also awesome and has the biggest sound also a great player.. i would probably think about where to want to go as wel... canberra (anu) is quiet smallish and can create a good work ethic but doesnt get many music acts and as much exsposure compared to VCA or Melbourne uni players.... Melbourne is big loud nice place to live lotsa stuff to see music wise and get exposure but can be a distraction... im currently in my second try of trying to get inot a music course.... a descent one.. realise that there is a lot of competition because theres about 3-4 positions available and 8-10 players going for it...
