I don't know about anybody else but to me BBb tubas and CC tubas sounds (are) the same. I respect everyone's opinion but some says that CC tuba is brighter, BBb is darker.... but, I've seen some bright sounding BBb tubas and some dark sounding CC. I can't see changing from one type of tuba to the other if one is already established one. Also, I can't believe that one tuba sounds better in an Orchestra and the other sounds better in a Concert band. One tuba's fingering pattern is more suitable for one band or the other for that problem should be solve through practice? I think it all boils down to the player.
