I must agree entirely with Dave. Great method. I am fortunate to live in a town with many great tubist of all styles and tastes. No matter what their personal preferences for horns, They can usually agree that a horn is a good horn(nice tone, in tune, constructed well, nice action, good price). It is up to you through research, to decide what you are looking for in a horn, based on your preferences. Preferences are DEVELOPED
over time with experience, LISTENING, and a lot of trial and error(the more trial, the less error). You should also, whenever possible, try horns when you are in good playing condition, and not in need of a horn. That way, when you have the need and the means you can narrow down the search to which of these 3 meinl weston or between this newer wilson and this older hirshbrunner.
