There is some yamaha bashing that goes on here, but there are also lots of players (Pros. even {Jim Self, Roger Bobo, Don Harry, Kelly O'Briant etc}) who play on the yamaha 822 F tuba and I haven't met anyone who doesn't really like those. I play on the 822 C and granted, I've put some work into it, but I've got it to sound the way I would like it to now. (By the way, anyone with a yamaha tuba, GET THE DILLON ADJUSTABLE GAP RECIEVER PUT ON IT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. IT DOES AMAZING THINGS TO YAMAHAS!!!!! TRUST ME.) So lately I've seen some good things here and if it's worth anything, I think that they are really good horns, but you do have to put a little work into them for them to sound really great, but they will always seem play really well.
thanks,
Bill
