Surely everyone remembers the ridiculous "controversy" about me offering a tuba for sale, and I ended up selling it to the middle school behind my house that had originally expressed interest in it.
Well, that same middle school has one of these Jupiter 582 things. I went over there and played it for you. I don't really have much of anything to say about it. The only goofy thing about it was the eighth partial Bb (just below middle c). That note is just about impossible to misfire on most tubas, but on that thing I REALLY had to concentrate and blow funny to avoid splitting that Bb.
I never rate instruments as "student" or "professional", until I play them personally. I would call this a "student" quality tuba.
