While I don't personally do any buzzing on a trumpet mouthpiece, I have hear BOTH Sam Pilafian and Scott Mendoker recommend this type of buzzing to aid the high register. However, they both add the "warning" not to do it much- 2 or 3 minutes a day max. And also allow some rest after trumpet mouthpiece buzzing. Ron Bishop told me that he tried it and didn't like it because he tried to put too much air through the smaller mouthpiece. Just try it for a few weeks, and then decide. Good luck!!
