I go to a lot of MSU games (I have season tickets this year) but am actually a CMU Alumni. I was in the Marching Chippewas for 4 years, played in basketball band, and played four years as principal tuba in the middle band and assisted in the Wind Ensemble (when I was there, Mr. Williamson only had one full time tuba in the Wind Ensemble). I always make it to Mt. Pleasant for homecoming and at least one other football game.
Will you be studying with Mark Cox? He was not the tuba guru when I was there, but I have met him and he seems like a great guy. Also, the new Music building is beautiful, much better than Powers Hall ever was. The tuba studio has grown a lot, and you'll meet some really good players.
