Some of the comments above apply primarily to high school and college marching bands. As a five year veteran of drum corps I an assure the GG Contrabass bugle can projects at least as well if not better than any BBb sousaphone I have heard or played. Not to mention 8 or 10 of them played by strong players who know how to fill them up. Just listen to 1987 Santa Clara Vanguard, Russian Christman music, the opener from that year. Then Make a more informed comparison.
