In the Music Man they are referred to as "Peck Horns". British Brass Bands use them to fill in the voice between the Flugelhorn and English Baritones. Pitched in the key of Eb. They have cup shaped mouthpieces with a larger diameter than a French Horn mouthpiece but still smaller than a baritone mouthpiece. Brass Bands in the U.S. also use them to capture the unique Brass Band sonority. Music is written specifically for Alto Horn in Eb. In England, I believe they are referred to as Tenor Horns, not Alto Horns. Look at a brochure from Yamaha or Boosey and Hawkes to get bore sizes and other
specifications.

This was very quick, I hope it helps.
