I've been thinking (dangerous, huh?). Our school has 3 yamaha 321's and one yamaha 641. When my 321 was in the shop(all the valves broke), I used the 641. That was a nice horn! I got a really good sound on it. Then a few months later, I played on a St. Petersburg, and I like that sound of it, too. Does it seem to anyone else, looking at size, bore diameter, and playing quality, that the yamaha 641 is just an overpriced st.petersburg with a laquer finish?
Or am I crazy.
