I got my St Pete from Die Tuba. He bought 200 in 1994 and, although you can buy basic tuba as it came from Russia and have the rotors reworked yourself, it made sense to me to get the version that had all of the German machine work done. The nickle plating was also done in Germany. I've only had it for one week, so I'm obviously still getting used to the big bore, the rotary valves, (my first) and getting my embrochure back. (My previous tuba was stolen and I had nothing to play for over a month) I don't know where or who does the plating and rotary valve work for TE. I do know that my total cost for the nickle plated horn including shipping, case, insurance, customs, and handling was $2755. I think I got an awful lot of tuba for that price.
