Alto horn mouthpieces are available from Wick, Schilke, Yamaha, and
Bach. They are a bit bigger than French horn mouthpieces (17-20mm
vs 16-18mm) have wider rims and bowl-shaped cups. If you should
run across a Bach, make sure it has the right shank. The same mp's
come in both alto horn and mellophone shanks. The mellophone shank
is quite a bit smaller and might not fit your horn. The players
in my band use either Wick 2's or Schilke 38D's. I'm afraid I have
no experience with Olds altos.

Alto horn music in brass band is written in Eflat treble clef. This means that a tuning Bflat is written as a second line G. It also means that you can pretend it's a treble clef euph part and finger accordingly- with the tones coming out up a fourth.
