Just bought one from Brian, and I'm still playing around with it. Seems well made, and the measurements of volume seem very repeatable, if a bit humbling. The instructions say to inhale slowly, which isn't what we do when playing, but my first impression is that it seems a worthwhile aid to learning how to breathe (again, after a 30 year layoff).
