Mine came with the flat whole step slide. That is the same setup on my Hirsbrunner CC. Helps to keep the brain straight. Was I supposed to get another slide when I bought the horn or did you buy one seperatelly?
I have no preference on 5th valve setups for an F tuba. I learned on a communist era B&S F with the minor third 5th and also found it to be easy enough to play. Some people like being able to play pedal F with all 5 valves on horns setup that way. Personally, I don't really care either way. I just the tunes and tell the horn what to do.
