You misunderstood! I was genuinely sticking up for this young lady you has a right to want what she wants, regardless of whether were wishes are prompted by her age, her beliefs or anything else.
What if everyone who said that they wanted a shiny attractive automobile was chided and told they should settle for an old rusty one because "they are cheaper and can run just fine"?
