Sorry, I got carried away. You are absolutely right, appearance DOES matter, four years in a USMC Field Band taught me that. If you think getting ready for school in the morning is a drag, imagine preparing for a Commanding General's Inspection in full Dress Blues with a fifty year-old Sousa on your shoulder!
I sincerely wish you the best of luck in finding a good quality tuba that looks as nice as it sounds. That certainly isn't too much to ask for.
