It is true that Nirschl currently is only producing the 4/4 and the 6/4 tubas already mentioned. But before they settled on these two horns, they were experimenting with different designs. It was among these early horns that they produced a 5/4 tuba. Dave told me that his was one of those early ones and that there were very few of them made. Dave's horn definitely is bigger than the current 4/4 model so I don't think Custom is using "creative marketing" in this instance, if they are referring to an older model. The question really is, is the horn Custom mentioned a new or used one? If new, they are being "creative" because none of the 5/4 models are being made anymore.
