Sorry I'm posting on this subject agian, but I need to vent.

Has anyone noticed that we hear a lot, The school has tubas but they are poor quality"
Heck, even I've said it before. And my band director is a tuba player! When I discussed this with him, he informed me that the band didn't have the money to get new tubas.
Of course, this makes me wonder: my band, which two years aog was regarded as one of the best in the state, is still using the same school owned instruments since the school opened 12 years ago, yet the football team, who won 2 games this year, always gets new equipment every year. I realize that maybe you could argue that new equipment is a necessity in football (uh-huh sure), but the tubas my school owns are literally falling apart. Not to mention all but two Sousaphones, all the marching horns, and half the french horns.

Any opinions?

Doug
