One comment about the term "International Pitch." In the piano world, this was the standard tuning for instruments made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and corresponded to A=435. My piano was made in 1887, and took three tunings to get it up to modern pitch (A=440), which the piano folks call "concert pitch."

The Missenharter Eb that became my project horn was pitched for about A=435, and was built around the turn of the century. The tuning crooks look like they had extensions built into them, that could, at the factory's discretion, be removed to make the horn a high-pitch instrument. And the Besson three-valve compensator, built in the 1920's, that I bought for my fiancee's uncle was pitched at around A=435 becfore I shortened things.
