That spoon would have come in handy after the Irish-Italian Parade in Gretna, LA, where they throw not only beads and doubloons from the floats (like their cousins during Mardi Gras) but Cabbages, Potatoes, and Carrots! Tradition says that you take home whatever you can gather and make a stew out of it to bring you luck for the next year, but I didn't consider it too lucky when those big old Italian ladies opened fire with their tomatoes!
