If it is pre-tonal (A 435?) then it is not low pitch. Low pitch is A 440. All are low pitch now. Am I right? Straighten me out on this. U.S. officially adopted international standard A 440 in the 1940's? Do I sound confused? Can't I push the tuning slides in enough to compensate for this if it turns out to be this way? Or cut them down so they will go in a bit farther?

Don't care about the looks. Have a trumpet with a bell that looked like it was run over with a truck. It was smashed completely shut. Straightened it out so it don't look too bad now. Wrinkled pretty bad though. Can soulder and repair most things. My french horn was in 2 pieces when I got it. Sounds great now.

P.S. Not to confuse anyone. I don't really play these brass things. I get someone else to try them out when they are fixed. I really want to play this tuba thing though.
