All good posts here, what a good thread Justin has started. Watch the TUBA Journal in upcoming issues as I believe there will be more on this topic(much more). The mission of the President's Own is primarily White House support, then the Commandant of the Marine Corps, then everybody else. During the 11 years I've been in, I've performed in a mind-boggling array of situations. Plenty of ceremonies, funerals, concerts, White House engagements(brass quintet, band, orchestra, brass choir) concert tours(look for us in the southern part of the US this fall!) etc... We play for all types of audiences in all settings. Especially rewarding are the indoor band concerts, I say indoor because I'd say half our work is outdoors and that brings with it all the "charms" of outdoor playing. It's great to get in a good hall with a good crowd and crank it up.

Once again this is by no means "official",
John Cradler
