Jay,
I brought my old (too-small) snake with me to a local music store and asked for something
bigger. They brought out a snake with a slightly larger brush that touches the sides of even my tuning slide. I was able to buy just the snake, without having to buy a "care kit". The brand was Roche-Thomas, if that makes a difference.
