Reading this information regarding UMI, Steinway, Selmer, etc. makes me think more and more about Leblanc. Leblanc still owns the Holton and Martin names. Wouldn't a revival of some of the best designs of those names be something? Now that Leblanc offers the Holton TU330CC, (Harvey Phillips) tuba perhaps other designs will be forthcoming. I've heard, (admittedly from undocumented sources) that some of the mandrels for the old Holton and Martin horns are still at the factory. This may be false, and the cost for reproducing those great old horns may be prohibitive due to labor costs, etc....but it's nice to think about!
