The first thing I recommend you do is experiment playing Treble clef, as a Bb trumpet player would read it. Not all the time!!! Just "play" with it a little. This gets you used to the notion of calling your open Bb a "C," a 1/2 G an "A," and so on and so forth... I had learned this when I was younger (in Drum Corps, believe it or not), so when I first made the switch, I already had the right idea in my head. The day I bought my CC, I turned in school-owned BBb Miraphone, and NEVER touched a BBb again. Just did it "cold turkey," and had it down in less than a month. I've had friends and students buy a CC, then sit with both horns and pick up the BBb when things got too frustrating. It took them considerably longer to adapt. DO LOTS OF SCALES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
