Agreed. Superman, Star Wars, and all the others were works that arose from the film, and were written to fit their purpose. That wasn't the point. The point I was trying to make was, it is still great music, despite being considered "pops" music, and sometimes even looked down on. my point was that if Williams had written these, or similar pieces without the intent of scoring a film, would they still be considered pops music??? I tend to not think so.
