The Oregon trail to the solution of your problem has been laid out clearly the Eugenian way!

I would say, that you just have got a smart brain taking the easiest, that is the readily available, way to manage your reading situation.

For some years almost all of my playing on Bb baritone and tenor bone was from C tenor treble clef notation (with some BC reading as well). Making me hate Bb TC. Furtherly making me doubt, whether I ever would be able to play from brass band notation.

The remedy, of course was my old Arban edition for trumpet.

Irony has, that I hardly can stand playing in brass bands now. That medium needs sense of intonation and phrasing at the levels of pro string ensembles. Hard to find! And a sense for repertory, that not represents a hound-pack race for the lowest common denominator.

Why play bad repertory with a brass band, when it can be done even worse by any Hammond organist?

Please for give a sprinkle of bad mood!
