Is the 34J bigger and heavier than the 25J or 24J?
Hard for me to imagine that.
I used a stand for concert work with the 25J back in college, but since I was a music major and played in a lot of different ensembles as well as toting it around to the practice rooms and to my lessons (my major instrument), I got used to hefting it around and playing it with the bottom bow perched on the corner of a chair.

BTW, what do you think about the serial no.? Does this place it in the mid-60's? It's K28403.
I think it may be a Texas horn, but I can't see this as being a 34J with that serial no. according to the tables I've seen, the letter prefixes didn't start until sometime in the early 60's. Before that, it was an ever increasing number with no letters.
