Ok, I understand that baritones look the same and have similar fingerings, but in a way, so do trumpets and french horns. How come tuba and baritone get put together so often? They're separate instruments, right? They have different parts in scores and even don't have the similarity of orchestral playing. Why can't it be (sorry baritones) tubas alone?

I know I'm probably missing some big point and I'm probably being one-sided, but it just has always made me wonder if it was my inexperience that made me not able to relate to 50% of baritone stuff or if it was like that for all tubas.

Is it because so many people play both?

I don't know, sorry if it's a bad post. I'm just curious
