I read an intresting article today about Leonard Bernstein's daughter, Jamie. She was making a trip to Cuba where she was organizing a series of concerts for exposing Bernstein's music to the Cuban people. The music was going to be played by the Cuban National Orchesta. Anyway, I wondered, what is the tuba scene like in Cuba? I know American interaction is limited, but I am certain there is a great deal of Musical talent in the country. Who playes in the Cuban national? Not an American that's for sure! Also with the embargo and all, where can tuba players get their instruments? I know they had dealing with the former USSR and still continue with China. Just wondering. Thank you in advance!
