Goldsmith's name is on the credits for the TV show theme, which was adapted from the first movie's score. Frankly, I like the way he conducted the movie score better; the articulation is more interesting and is cleaner. I don't know who did the score for "The Wrath of Khan", but I do know that Horner did the score for "The Search for Spock", and it was really good.

Goldsmith is easily the equal of anyone who has ever scored films, even though he is not as well known as John Williams or (currently) James Horner. He has written some of the best movie music ever, like the original "Alien" soundtrack (a masterwork that was inexcusably butchered, chopped up, and used in the wrong places in the film) and the Second Coming theme from "The Omen III", a remarkably powerful, gorgeous, uplifting pieces for orchestra.
