Well in case any of you out there have not heard Floyd Cooley of the San Francisco Symphony has just announced his retirement. So ends an era spanning over 30 seasons. He ends the 2nd longest tenure at SFSO. I can honesly say that if it were not for Floyd Cooley I would be doing something other than what I love to do...and that is to play the tuba. He personally changed my life within the first 10 minutes of our first lesson together and sparked a fire and realization that I could be a player. But I am sure this is not the end of his playing days just his SFSO days.
