I like Farberman's Mahler 6 also. As an f.y.i., I recently picked up a Mahler 6 with the Baltimore Symphony conducted by David Zinman. Needless to say, David Fedderly (sp?) sounds great on it. It's on something called, "The Zinman Legacy" - a three disc set issued by the Baltimore Symphony. You can buy it for $45 (not cheap, I know) from "An die Musik" - a classical music boutique store that's located in Baltimore. Aside from Mr. Fedderly's tuba playing, and aside from it being a really good Mahler 6, it also has electronically enhanced hammerblows in the finale that are to die for (more like, to be killed by!). It doesn't have a first movement expo. repeat, but that also permits it to fit onto one disc. The rest of the set has the Mozart "Jupiter"; Brahms #3; the Prokofiev "Classical"; and a really hot performance of Tchaik. #5. Again, really good low brass in the Tchaik. #5.
