Really!? Someone should tell Wes Jacobs or Jay Berlet (sp?) for starters. Do you think that without seeing the horn that you can tell, by listening, whether the horn is an E-flat or F? When it comes to what comes out the bell, what is the difference between a small E-flat and a large F? I think tubadude answered his own question when he stated "I have played some E-flats and loved the sound I got". If an orchestral player plays a huge pedal D in the woods and nobody is there to see it, is he playing a CC or a BB-flat?

Sincerely,
Michael "a happy E-flat player" G.
