Klaus, I apreciate your input on this, but I don't totally agree. I'm aware of the courtois saxhorn in Bb and this is not what I was referring to. The tuba I was referring to was a 6 valve French C tuba. I don't know if their necessarily manufactured, but they are still being produced, probably made to order. The French conservatories taught tuba only using the French C up until the latter part of the twentieth century and even now they still use it, but in conjunction with bass tubas. What I'm trying to say is that they would have to still make these things somewhere in France. I could be wrong about this. I don't teach or play tuba in France, but I've researched this a little. I'll look into this some more just to make sure
