Hi there,

I have both of my horns insured on my parents home owners insurance. Each horn is on what is called a "floater." Aparently a floater covers posessions that may leave the home like computers, instruments, etc. All I have done is submitted a copy of the sales slip and/or an appraisal of the instrument and the instrument's make, model, and serial numbers. I'm VERY glad I have them insured. Last year a sax fell on my big horn and crushed the bow. The local repair man did a great job on it. The repair cost was covered by my insurance. I was assigned a claims adjuster, but I never saw him. He said that being that the damage was less than $1,000, he would just ok the cost written on the estimate. Insurance is a beautiful thing. :)

I hope this helps!
