The journal has some real gems in it from time to time--these articles make it well worth the money. If you have any "1099" income at all (in Music) you can write off your membership dues. Lastly, the membership directory and the connections you can make through the organization are invaluable. If you are so inspired you could even get involved and help to take the organization up to "the next level."
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Just about everyone involved in ITEA donates their time. If you aren't happy with the organzation why not donate some of your time and make some positive changes.
