If you haven't done so already, for an idea of the difference between these two horns you might check out Gene Pokorney's two solo cds. Tuba Tracks makes frequent use of a B&S Perantucci F. Big Boy makes use of a MW182 on a few of the tracks.

You have a tough choice to make. I'm intrigued by the MW182 as well but four grand for any B&S tuba seems like a really great deal to me. Considering the fact that the B&S is a known quantity with a well established track record to me this would be a no brainer. From an audience perspective I'm marginally partial to the B&S so take my opinions with a grain of salt.
