Trying to answer your questions.
1. The bell is laquered on both sides and has spots (that look like brass-rust) on it.
I wrote: The body is "matt", but I believe that "frosted" is the right word.
2. Both sections (bell and body) are from the same model, both show the same serial number
3. Valves work without any problem and the slides are ok as well. No tightness problems.
4. It plays well and I think it fits to me. I like it. The horn was built in 1953.
5. It has no rips, but the body is one dense chain of dents. I shall try to get informed
about the price of removing the dents.
6. Asked price for the sousaphone is in German Marks 5.000,=, which is far too much as
I see it.
The 4th valve is important to me, as I play in the orchestra also 4 valve Eb Tuba.
