To tell you all the truth, I hadn't really put much fore-thought into doing this test. As I searched around for large CC horns, I was simply allowed to take a few home and try 'em out! It just so happened that Lovely and I had just finished a funeral together, and Voth, Eberly and Chisham live so close, that I just thought I'd invite 'em all together for a listen (and a little post-test ceremonial band bonding over a couple pitchers at the local watering-hole). Sorry that I didn't post something about this test earlier. I will certainly consider doing another one at another time with different pitched/sized instruments....maybe when all us ceremonial tubists get into it over F tubas, or something! I'll keep you all posted.
