A teacher once told me that there is one embouchure that can do it all but most people use many. He also said the way to eliminate most if not all of these excesses is to play an exercize that involves starting on low c and going up in half-steps returning to the low c each time (c-c#-c-d etc...) all the way up as high as you can go with your low c embouchure. this will sound terrible as you get up there and it can be very discouraging at first, you probably don't want to do this more than 3 times a week either due to the phyisical and mental stress it can cause. however the results are really cool, at least they were for me, my high range is much more reliable and the sound is also closer to that of my mid and low range. i wish you all the luck in the world.
