I also recommend seeing a chiropractor for your problem. I was very much suspicious of chiropractic until I got a problem similar to the one you describe (could hardly turn my head, driving a car was a total pain). On the insistence of my wife I went to see a chiropractor (it was cheap). The relief was very fast. You also get to lie down with warm, tingly stuff on your neck and shoulders. Very relaxing.
