Aubrey, check your facts. Hindemith was run out of Germany in the 1930's by the Nazi's due to a little opera he wrote called "Mathis De Maler". Ended up at Yale(Harvard?).He was considered an "avant-garde" composer, something Uncle Joe Stalin had even less affinity for.
